I am the creative director of Rootwork.org, working with nonprofits and community groups as a Drupal developer and online organizer. I've been developing in Drupal since 2005, in the waning days of version 4.5. I'm active in the "nonprofit tech" and Drupal communities, and have a background as a community organizer. I started the Philadelphia Drupal group, and have helped organize and present at numerous "Drupaldelphia" camps. I moved from Philadelphia to Portland, OR, in 2012.
I am the online communications associate with the Fellowship of Reconciliation and part of the NetSquared Global Leadership Council, which organizes local gatherings of nonprofits and tech experts interested in using social technology for social change. For four years, I co-organized the Philadelphia NetSquared meetup, and since moving to Portland I've helped organize the PDX4Good nonprofit tech meetup.
I was a co-founder of the Genocide Intervention Network, and sit on the board of the Peace and Justice Studies Association. I have led community organizing workshops at the U.S. Social Forum, the New Organizing Institute and the Gandhi-King Conference.
